Before you start

Open the PDF in Deta’s drawing viewer. Ready-made stamps are included. To use your own signature or stamp, create a signature or create a custom stamp in the library.

Steps

Place a signature or stamp

  1. Choose Stamp tool icon Stamp in the left toolbar, or press K.
  2. Click Stamp library button Stamp in the properties bar above the drawing to open the library.
  3. Open Signatures or Stamps and click the item you want to place.
  4. For a dated signature or stamp, check Date below checkbox Date below in the properties bar, then choose the date and format.
  5. Under Apply to page choices Apply to, choose This page, All pages, or Custom to select a custom range of pages.
  6. Click where you want the signature or stamp on the page.
  7. Select the placed item to move or resize it. With All pages or a Custom range, moving or resizing the stamp updates its linked copies across those pages.

Only the person who placed a signature or stamp can edit it in Deta. On export, it is burned into the PDF page and is no longer an editable markup in the exported file.

Create a signature

  1. Open the Stamp library, choose Signatures, and click Plus icon New signature beside the search box.
  2. In Add signature, choose Draw and write your signature, or choose Upload and select a photo. For a clear upload, photograph the signature straight-on on white paper; Deta removes light backgrounds automatically.
  3. Enter a Name and click Save signature. It is now available in the Signatures tab for placement on the PDF.

Create a custom stamp

  1. Open the Stamp library, choose Stamps, and click Plus icon New stamp beside the search box.
  2. Choose how to make the stamp:
    • Text stamp: enter Text, then set Color, Opacity, and Border.
    • Image stamp: click Upload an image instead, choose an image under 8 MB, and enter a Name.
  3. Click Add to library. It is now available in the Stamps tab for placement on the PDF.

Check your result

Check the signature or stamp’s position, size, and date on each chosen page.

Troubleshooting

  • An uploaded stamp image is rejected: use an image under 8 MB.
