Comment Tool

Introduction

The Comment Tool allows users to leave discussion-style comments directly on a PDF in Deta Studio. Unlike text annotations, comments are designed for collaboration, enabling reviewers to leave feedback, view author information and timestamps, and reply to each other within a threaded conversation.

Step 1: Add a Comment

Locate the Comment Tool (comment icon) in the left toolbar and click to activate it, or press M. Click anywhere on the PDF to place a comment as a floating text box. Once completed, open the comment panel to view the comment along with the author's name and timestamp.

Step 2: View and Reply to Comments

• Click a comment marker to open the comment thread.
• View the full comment history and timestamps.
• Click Reply to respond and continue the discussion below the original comment.

Step 3: Delete or Close a Comment

• Delete: Click Delete within the comment panel to remove the comment.
• Close: Click Close or press the Esc key to close the comment panel without deleting it.
