Right-click a markup → Arrange
Before you start
Open a drawing with overlapping markups you can edit. Change their stacking order to choose which annotation appears in front of the others.
Steps
- Choose Select (V) and select the markup you want to bring forward or send backward.
- Right-click the markup and open Arrange. On a Mac trackpad, click with two fingers.
- Choose the action you need:
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Bring to front | Put the selection above other markups. |
| Bring forward | Move it above the next overlapping markup. |
| Send backward | Move it below the next overlapping markup. |
| Send to back | Put it behind other markups. |
- Click away and inspect the overlap. Repeat if another step is needed.
Check your result
The intended markup appears on top where the objects overlap. Their positions and sizes stay the same.
Troubleshooting
- A command is disabled: there may be no further overlapping markup in that direction, or the selection may not be editable.
- You see no difference: the objects may not overlap, or the upper object may have a transparent fill.
- The note still hides a printed dimension: The Arrange menu changes the stacking order of markups. Move the note or change its background to reveal the underlying PDF detail.
