Open a PDF from your computer in the desktop app and save your work locally.

Before you start
Use the Deta desktop app.
Steps
Open a PDF
- Select
This device in the sidebar. - Click the
Open a PDF card and choose a PDF on your device.
Alternatively, drag and drop a PDF from your computer into This device.
Save your work
Click 
Save to update the file you opened. To keep the original and save a separate file, open 
Save options and choose Save As Copy….
If you leave with unsaved changes, Deta asks whether to save them.
Upload a copy to a workspace
Click 
Upload, choose a workspace and folder, then click Upload. You now work on a separate cloud copy; it does not sync with the local PDF.
Troubleshooting
- There is no This device entry: open the desktop app; this entry is not available in a browser.
- Deta cannot replace the original: if the file is read-only or locked, choose Save As Copy….
- The file changed on disk: the save prompt offers Overwrite, Save As Copy…, or Cancel. Overwrite replaces the other program's changes with your current work.
