Managing Your Subscription

How to upgrade, downgrade, cancel, and manage billing for your Deta account.

All subscription management is done from Account Settings → Billing. Changes take effect immediately.

Upgrading to Pro

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Select the Pro plan
  3. Choose monthly or yearly billing
  4. Enter your payment details and confirm

Your account limits update immediately after payment is confirmed. No restart or manual activation needed.

Setting Up a Studio Workspace

Studio is a workspace-level plan, not a personal plan. To set up Studio for your team:

  1. Open the workspace you want to upgrade
  2. Go to Workspace Settings → Billing
  3. Select Studio and choose the number of seats
  4. Complete payment — the workspace owner is billed

Once active, you can invite team members up to the number of seats purchased. Each seat holder gets full Pro-level features and AI credits.

Adding or Removing Seats

You can adjust your Studio seat count at any time from Workspace Settings → Billing:

  • Adding seats — You're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
  • Removing seats — The reduction takes effect at the next renewal date. No partial refunds are issued for removed seats mid-cycle.

Switching Between Monthly and Yearly

You can switch your billing interval from Settings → Billing:

  • Monthly → Yearly: The switch takes effect immediately. You're charged the annual rate and receive the discount from the switch date.
  • Yearly → Monthly: The switch takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

Downgrading Your Plan

You can downgrade from Pro to Free at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Select Downgrade to Free
  3. Confirm the change

Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, limits revert to the Free plan:

  • Documents above the free limit become read-only (not deleted)
  • Workspaces above the free limit become inaccessible until you upgrade again or reduce your workspace count

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Cancel subscription
  3. Confirm the cancellation

You retain access to your paid features until the end of the current billing period. Your data is not deleted — you can resubscribe at any time and pick up where you left off.

Invoices and Payment History

All invoices are available under Settings → Billing → Invoices. You can download PDF invoices at any time.

If you need invoices sent to a specific billing email or with custom company details, update your billing information from the same page.

Changing Your Payment Method

Go to Settings → Billing → Payment method to update your credit card. The new card will be used for your next renewal.
