Managing Your Subscription
How to upgrade, downgrade, cancel, and manage billing for your Deta account.
All subscription management is done from Account Settings → Billing. Changes take effect immediately.
Upgrading to Pro
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Select the Pro plan
- Choose monthly or yearly billing
- Enter your payment details and confirm
Your account limits update immediately after payment is confirmed. No restart or manual activation needed.
Setting Up a Studio Workspace
Studio is a workspace-level plan, not a personal plan. To set up Studio for your team:
- Open the workspace you want to upgrade
- Go to Workspace Settings → Billing
- Select Studio and choose the number of seats
- Complete payment — the workspace owner is billed
Once active, you can invite team members up to the number of seats purchased. Each seat holder gets full Pro-level features and AI credits.
Adding or Removing Seats
You can adjust your Studio seat count at any time from Workspace Settings → Billing:
- Adding seats — You're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
- Removing seats — The reduction takes effect at the next renewal date. No partial refunds are issued for removed seats mid-cycle.
Switching Between Monthly and Yearly
You can switch your billing interval from Settings → Billing:
- Monthly → Yearly: The switch takes effect immediately. You're charged the annual rate and receive the discount from the switch date.
- Yearly → Monthly: The switch takes effect at the end of your current annual period.
Downgrading Your Plan
You can downgrade from Pro to Free at any time:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Select Downgrade to Free
- Confirm the change
Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, limits revert to the Free plan:
- Documents above the free limit become read-only (not deleted)
- Workspaces above the free limit become inaccessible until you upgrade again or reduce your workspace count
Cancelling Your Subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Cancel subscription
- Confirm the cancellation
You retain access to your paid features until the end of the current billing period. Your data is not deleted — you can resubscribe at any time and pick up where you left off.
Invoices and Payment History
All invoices are available under Settings → Billing → Invoices. You can download PDF invoices at any time.
If you need invoices sent to a specific billing email or with custom company details, update your billing information from the same page.
Changing Your Payment Method
Go to Settings → Billing → Payment method to update your credit card. The new card will be used for your next renewal.
