How billing works in Deta — plans, workspaces, seats, and managing your subscription.
Deta uses a straightforward billing model built around two dimensions: your personal plan and your workspace plan. You can start for free with no credit card required, and upgrade at any time from your account settings.
How Billing Works
Deta separates billing into two layers:
Personal Plans
Your personal plan controls how many workspaces you can create, how many documents you can upload, and how many AI credits you receive each month. There are two personal plans:
- Starter (Free) — Everything you need to get started. Includes 1 workspace, up to 3 members, 5 documents, and 50 AI credits per month.
- Pro — For individuals who need more. Unlimited workspaces, unlimited documents, and more AI credits per month. Billed monthly or yearly.
Workspace Plans (Studio)
The Studio plan is for teams. Instead of each person paying individually, the workspace owner purchases seats and everyone on the team is covered. Each seat holder gets full Pro-level features plus 2× the AI credits.
- Studio billing is per seat, per month (or per year at a discount).
- The workspace owner manages the seat count and payment.
- Members added to a Studio workspace do not need their own Pro subscription.
Payment Processing
Deta payments are processed securely via Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Invoiced billing is available on enterprise plans — contact us to learn more.
You can manage your payment method, download invoices, and view billing history from Account Settings → Billing.
Annual Billing
Both Pro and Studio plans are available on annual billing at approximately 17% off the monthly price. When billed annually, the full year is charged upfront and the discounted per-month equivalent is shown on your invoice.
